Bloom Aid

Combatting period poverty, one menstrual kit at a time.

Period poverty // noun // the lack of access to or affordability of menstrual products, sanitation, hygiene facilities, and education and awareness to manage menstrual health.

Bloom Aid's Journey

Bloom Aid, the first branch of Plover International, is dedicated to combating period poverty and promoting menstrual equity. Founded to address the challenges faced by individuals lacking access to menstrual products, Bloom Aid donates essential hygiene supplies such as pads, tampons, liners, and more, while advocating for supportive policies and dismantling the stigma surrounding menstruation. We educate communities on the importance of breaking down societal taboos, empowering individuals to manage their menstrual health with dignity. Through our initiatives, we strive to foster understanding and create systemic change, ensuring everyone has the resources and support they need.

Period Pantries in Oklahoma City

Quincy Bui, president of the Bloom Aid Oklahoma City chapter stands strong with a passion for women’s health and menstrual hygiene. She has forwarded a unique take on Bloom Aid’s mission of combatting period poverty by constructing period pantries that are to be set in downtown Oklahoma City. Partnering with Adriana Do, president of the GDAF Oklahoma City chapter, they plan to distribute all Plover hygiene kits and strive to make an impact in hygiene access for OK’s homeless population. Each pantry will be publicly accessible, and a resource for anyone in need to take the essential hygiene products Plover will provide.
